Angel Island Privacy Policy

The short version: Angel Island does not collect, store or share any personal data. Your location stays on your phone.

Angel Island is a self-guided audio tour and history guide to the Angel Island Immigration Station, made by Sunsets over Sunrise LLC. This page explains what the app does with information.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We do not collect, store on a server, sell, or share any information about you.

Location

The app asks for your location only if you tap "Start walking tour" on the Tour tab. It uses your location while the tour is running to show you on the map and to play each stop as you arrive. This happens on your phone. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else by the app, and it is not saved. "End walking tour" stops it. If you keep the tour running with the screen locked, your phone shows its usual location indicator.

Maps

The map uses Apple Maps to show satellite imagery, so it needs an internet connection. Apple provides that service under Apple's privacy policy. The narration, poems and timeline work without a signal.

Links to other sites

The Visit tab has links to ferry operators, the park and the museum, and to directions in Apple Maps. These open outside the app, and those sites have their own privacy policies.

Settings

The app remembers your choices, such as your place in the tour, on your device only.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
